Family:  Pseudochromidae (Dottybacks), subfamily: Pseudochrominae
Max. size:  6.2 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 5 - 30 m
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Peninsular Malaysia, the Philippines and northern Borneo.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 3-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 21-22; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 11-12. Description: Characterized by bright yellow color; magenta band from snout to posterior portion of back; anterior lateral line scales 19-24; predorsal scales 17-22; depth of body 26.1-30.5 % of SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Found in sheltered reefs with rich coral growth (Ref. 48635). Small groups are found among coral or rocks. Minimum depth reported from Ref. 27115. In aquarium settings, this species behaves aggressively towards other fishes (Ref. 125723).
