Distribution:  Africa: middle Congo River basin in Cameroon (Ref. 46233, 51193), Republic of Congo (Ref. 53209, 114154) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ref. 1877, 41585, 41590, 41594, 106245, 106290).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Possesses electroreceptors over the entire head, the ventral and dorsal regions of the body, but absent from the side and the caudal peduncle where the electric organ is located (Ref. 10011).
