Max. size:  12 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 5 - 30 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: known only from Phuket and the Similan Islands in Thailand and the Seribu Islands in the Java Sea, Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 13-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 14-15; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 14-15. Description: Overall pale grey, anterodorsal scales spot or streak blue. Body depth 1.9-2.0 in SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Adults inhabit coral reefs mainly in offshore areas (Ref. 7247). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
