Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Nam Ma basin in Laos, Red River basin in northern Viet Nam (Ref. 43281), and Mekong basin in Yunnan, China (Ref. 38630).
Diagnosis:  With 14 predorsal scales; body slender, depth 3.5-3.8 times in SL; caudal peduncle 1.7-1.9 times longer than deep; length of stiff part of last simple dorsal ray less than body depth at dorsal origin; marginal caudal stripes grey, rest of fin hyaline (Ref. 43281).
Biology:  Maximum length reaches up to at least 13 cm SL (Ref. 43281).
