Pseudogastromyzon daon (Mai, 1978)

Family:  Gastromyzontidae (Hillstream loaches)
Max. size:  3.2 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; pH range: 7.9 - 8.8
Distribution:  Asia: Phong Tho and Nam Na streams in northern Vietnam northwards into Mengyejiang River, Red River basin in Yunnan, China.
Diagnosis:  Diagnostic characters include the following: snout obtusely rounded; mandibular structure without central concave; anus not covered by pelvic fins; caudal fin obliquely emarginated; body and head dark brown with paler spots; 25-26 branched pectoral fin rays; 19-22 branched pelvic fin rays; and 75-85 lateral line scales (Ref. 95066).
