Family:  Sciaenidae (Drums or croakers)
Max. size:  50 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; brackish; marine, non-migratory
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Borneo, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 24-27; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 7-8
Biology:  Found in coastal waters, estuaries and mouths of rivers. Also caught with bottom trawls and handlines (Ref. 9772). Marketed fresh as well as dried salted; swim bladder dried (Ref. 2113).
