Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 7 - 8; dH range: 9 - 20
Distribution:  Central America: Atlantic slope, upper Tulija River in the Usumacinta River drainage, Mexico.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  A current-loving fish which prefers the montane habitat. Feeds upon aufwuchs and the encrusted invertebrates (mostly small crustaceans).
