| Diagnosis: | Description: most elongated species of the genus; exhibits very noticeable sexual dimorphism: head of males can be extremely massive, with a large hump and very heavy jaws; no differences in length of dorsal and anal fin rays which can be fairly elongated in both sexes; caudal peduncle and large caudal fin elongated; eyes positioned relatively high (Ref. 52307). Coloration: body gray, sometimes with brownish to reddish portions in dorsal and caudal fins; 2 longitudinal stripes which join at caudal peduncle sometimes present (Ref. 52307). | |||
