Distribution:  Western Pacific: Indonesia and the Philippines.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-12; Anal soft rays: 19-21; Vertebrae: 38-39. This species is distinguished by having these characters: gill rakers 31-35 + 41-46 = 72-82; a short upper jaw, reaching to just before or behind anterior margin of preopercle (Ref. 83462).
