Max. size:  20 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 1 - 50 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: Mauritania. Also in the Mediterranean off the coast of Spain and the Balearic Islands (Ref. 4742)
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit the littoral zone in seagrass beds and around rocks (Ref. 5292). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Males build dish shaped nests and guard the eggs (Ref. 205).
