Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobionellinae
Max. size:  10.4 cm SL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 18.9 g
Environment:  demersal; brackish
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong (Ref. 31075) and Vietnam (Ref. 58534). Eastern Central Pacific: Presence in San Francisco Bay, California attributed to ballast-water transport (Ref. 37896).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-10; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 10-10. Snout margin has a series of small barbels extending to the cheek; lower jaw has 2 series of small barbels, 1 along the opercular margin and another along the preopercular margin.
Biology:  Native to marine and brackish waters in China, Japan and Korea (Ref. 92840).
