Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 44 - 384 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: Gulf of Guinea. Western Atlantic: Gulf of Mexico to Suriname.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Further study is needed to clarify the differences between this species and U. lepturus (Richardson) from the Indo-West Pacific.
