Vanmanenia polylepis can be distinguished from V. pingchowensis. by having 137-146 scales on lateral line and a longitudinal dark brown wavy stripe running along the lateral-line on the side of the body (Ref. 96004). Description: Dorsal-fin rays iii-8½ ; anal-fin rays ii-5½ ; pectoral-fin rays i-13-14 ; pelvic-fin rays i-7-8 (Ref. 96004). | |||
