Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Turkey and Caucasus.

Country info:  Known from the Anatolian Mediterranean Sea watersheds, Anatolian Black Sea watersheds, Asi Nehri/Orontes watershed and Gulf watersheds (Firat Nehri, Dicle Nehri). Also Ref. 106151. Threatened due to habitat loss, eutrophication/pollution, construction of weirs/dams in rivers and water abstraction (Ref. 58342). Status of threat: Near Threatened (Ref. 58342). "nEurTurk."
