Distribution:  Southeast Pacific: Chile (Ref. 27540). Southwest Atlantic: off Brazil (Ref. 86346).
Biology:  Holotype taken from a depth of 1200 m (Ref. 26282). Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205).
IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient (DD); Date assessed: 30 April 2004 Ref. (123251)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Type locality, off Brazil (Ref. 26282). Collected from the Campos Basin off southestern Brazil, at depths from 1,067 to 1,353 m (Ref. 86346).
