Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Quanza River system and interior of Benguela (Ref. 3818, 11970) in Angola. Also reported from the Nsele River (Pool Malebo tributary) in Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ref. 97590).

Country info:  Known from the Cuanza River system (Ref. 3818, 11970, 120641) and Benguela region (Ref. 3818, 11970, 94772, 96558). Type locality of the holotype of Doumea angolensis: 'the interior of Benguella, at an altitude of 4000-5000 feet' (Ref. 96558).
