Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Smiliogastrinae
Max. size:  25 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: known only from India.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in fast flowing streams and rivers with rocky bottom (Ref. 41236).
IUCN Red List Status: Critically Endangered (CR); Date assessed: 30 June 2010 (A2ace) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Outside distributional range, occurrence needs confirmation. Also found in the Nujiang River [=Salween River] system in China (Ref. 51717).
