Use of carp has been discontinued in aquaculture because of risk to environment if escapees establish populations; 1,300 fingerlings were introduced in June 1976 with agreement of the Government following recommendations of foreign fisheries experts. The fingerlings were a mixture of scale, orange scale, leather and mirror carp. It is planned to eradicate the species. Also Ref. 51221.     Ref:  Msiska, O.V., 1993
