Comments: | Established in Malaita Island, Santa Ana Island and in Lake Tenggano, Rennell Island. In Lake Tenggano, harvests sometimes exceed 16 t per year (P. Nicols, pers. comm.). Probably came from Guadalcanal. Extinction of two duck species (Anas superciliosa and A. gibberifrons) speculatively attributed to this species (Ref. 9420). Also Ref. 1739. Ref: |
