Comments: | Accidentally introduced to Fanning Atoll, Line 1 from research vessels examining the potential use of tilapia as tuna bait. Also released in a lake in Washington Island, Line 1. Attempts to eradicate stunted pops. which hinder the development of milkfish culture proved unsuccessful (Ref. 6046). Introduced for aquaculture. A decrease of mullet, bonefish and milkfish was observed in its establishment to the Fanning Atoll (Ref. 9420). Also Ref. 5198. Ref: Lobel, P.S., 1980 |
