Pigmentation: pigment restricted to dorsal edge of gut up to metamorphosis; after metamorphosis, spots are added to caudal base, some caudal rays, and a patch over the eye. Sequence of fin formation: dorsal and anal (30-64 mm SL); caudal (43 mm SL); pelvic (65 mm SL).
