Base of dorsal fin not elevated. Dorsal fin rays 22 and caudal fin rays 10 for larvae measuring around 10 mm. Pigmentation: Seven patches of brownish-black pigment are present in the posterior part of the body between the dorsal and caudal fins which transform as seven longitudinal series of pearly ocelli spread over the trunk in adults.
