At 7.7 mm, body is deep and laterally compressed. Dorsal and anal fins are developed, but rays and spines have yet to differentiate. Dorsal fin has a remnant of a fin fold and has a prominent dorsal spine. A pelvic flap is present with internal fixed fused spines. Pigmentation: Body heavily pigmented with irregular patches devoid of pigmentation.
