Taggstrålar i analfenan 1; Mjukstrålar i analfenan: 10. This species differs from all its congeners in the eastern Pacific by having the following characters: 2 basicaudal scales; D2 typically I,11; numerous branched caudal rays 12-15; with a longitudinal dark stripe on head (Ref. 87125).

Biologi     Ordlista (t.ex. epibenthic)

Inhabits rocky reefs, usually found near Eucidaris thouarsi. Known as facultative cleaners (Ref. 92840).
