Africa: known from the Cross River in Nigeria (Ref. 2940, 81282) and Cameroon (Ref. 2940, 81282, 81639), and from the Wouri and Sanaga River basins in Cameroon (Ref. 81639).

背棘 (總數): 0; 背的軟條 (總數): 11; 臀鰭軟條: 17 - 19. Diagnosis: body depth 4.7-5.1x and head length 3.9-4.1x SL; eye diameter 2.9-3.1x head length (Ref. 2940, 81282). Scale formula: 9.5/40-42/4.5 (Ref. 2940, 81282) or 8.5-9.5/40-42/4.5 (Ref. 81639). 12 scales around caudal peduncle; 14-16 anal-fin branched rays (Ref. 2940, 81282, 81639). 8 dorsal-fin branched rays; sides plain or with irregular markings; back dark (Ref. 2940, 81282).
背面輪廓圓的。 大的眼。 在身體的後半段上的背鰭,3個單一的鰭條， 8個分枝。 在背部中央之下的臀鰭起源,3個單一的鰭條與 14-16個分枝。 間隔的空間胸鰭與腹鰭等於胸鰭長度。 更長的尾鰭下葉。 在第一鰓弓上的小的鰓耙。 深色的背面有被線的鱗片的邊緣有黑色的。 側邊用深色條紋在-之中來自鰓蓋到尾鰭的末端的高度。
