> Anabantiformes (Gouramies, snakeheads) > Badidae (Chameleonfishes)
Etymology: Badis: 'badis' is presumably a Bengali local name, possibly derived from 'bhedo' or 'bheda', but it lacks a proper reference. Probably incorrect etymology (J. Müller, pers. comm., April 2021, after information from native speakers).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00537 (0.00222 - 0.01301), b=3.05 (2.84 - 3.26), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trofisk nivå (Ref. 69278):  3.3   ±0.4 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resiliens (Ref. 120179):  Låg, lägsta populationsfördubblingstid 4,5-14 år (Assuming Fec<100).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
