Kurzbeschreibung Morphologie | Morphometrie

Rückenflossenweichstrahlen (insgesamt): 67-75; Afterflossenweichstrahlen: 50 - 57; Wirbelzahl: 41 - 44. This species is characterized by the following: vertebrae 11-12 + 29-33 = 41-44, dorsal fin rays 67-75, anal fin rays 50-57; outer pseudoclasper is broad, distally much expanded; inner pseudoclasper large, with two elongate branches pointing outwards, penis with abrupt change from thick base to thin tip; opercular spine with single, sharp tip, broad scale patch on cheeks with 6-8 vertical scale rows; otolith compressed, length: height ratio 2.1-2.2; vertical fins with black margins; head profile high (Ref. 57883).

Lives in rocky habitats. A 72 mm SL female collected was found to contain eggs 0.5 mm in diameter and a 75 mm female with eggs 0.8 mm in diameter (Ref. 57883).
