Short description Morfologia | Morfometria

Spine dorsali (totale): 7; Raggi dorsali molli (totale): 8; Spine anali 1; Raggi anali molli: 9; Vertebre: 26. This species differs from its congeners in having the following set of characters: segmented dorsal- and anal-fin rays, 8 and 9, respectively; elongated body, its depth 13.5-15.5% of SL; males with greatly prolonged (extending beyond posterior end of base of second dorsal fin when appressed) and filamentous first dorsal-fin spine; anteroventral and/or distal parts of first dorsal fin may have small black spot(s) (smaller than pupil); small 3-6 black spots on second dorsal fin; dorsal margin of caudal fin with some narrow black markings, in addition to the blackened posterior margin (Ref. 75138).
