This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: longitudinal row scales 25-29; transverse row scales 8-10; predorsal scales 7-11; posterior margin of pelvic fins is concave, the fourth ray is the longest, frenum low, connecting membrane 66.2-79.7% of pelvic fin length; cephalic sensory canal pores B’D(s)FH’; Row 16 comprising 10R + 1P; with Row 20; pectoral, pelvic, and caudal fns with white or light spots (Ref. 124175).
