Spine dorsali (totale): 0; Raggi dorsali molli (totale): 0; Spine anali 60-75. Diagnosis: adipose fin always present; inner side of pectoral spine without serrations, being entirely smooth (Ref. 43912).
Probably a schooling species confined to rather large river systems; feeds on small crustaceans (Ref. 43912). Oviparous, eggs are unguarded (Ref. 205).
