Taggstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt): 7; Mjukstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt): 9-10; Taggstrålar i analfenan 1; Mjukstrålar i analfenan: 10. Cheek naked; opercle naked; central pectoral base sometimes scaled; breast and belly anteriorly naked; predorsal region naked or with few scales anterior to first dorsal fin; first dorsal fin with blackish mark on posterior half of fin near base, marking darkest posterior to fifth spine appearing slightly crescentic (Ref. 34009).
