Comments: Type locality, near Chatham Island, Western Australia, CSIRO H 2508-01 (holotype of Parascyllium elongatum, 42.1 TL, female). Known only from the holotype taken from a stomach of a school shark collected at 50 m depth (Ref. 76938).

Short description Morfologia | Morfometria

This species is characterized by a very long, slender body (depth 18.5 in length); very small head (length less than 13% TL); small eye (eye length less than 8% of head length); small pectoral fins (anterior margin ca. 8% TL); dorsal fins small, low, with narrowly rounded apices; body color greyish with darker bands separated by slightly diagonal, vertical rows of white spots; no dark collar-like marking over gill region (Ref. 76938).
