Comments: Recorded from Bandar Jissa in 2008 (63 cm TL male at 10 m depth), Seeb fish market (65-68 cm TL male) and off Salalah in 2010 (75 cm TL female at 30 m depth) (Ref. 87400). Museum: Salalah fish market, BPBM 36358 (holotype, 54 cm TL). Also Ref. 11441, 129713.

Found inshore in inner continental shelf. Males mature at ca 62 cm TL, born at ca. 18 cm TL; produces 1-6 pups (Ref. 114953). Ovoviviparous (Ref. 50449).

Exhibit ovoviparity (aplacental viviparity), with embryos feeding initially on yolk, then receiving additional nourishment from the mother by indirect absorption of uterine fluid enriched with mucus, fat or protein through specialised structures (Ref. 50449).
