Distributed in lakes belonging to all the river drainages related to the Arctic basin from the Northern Dvina to Kolyma in the east, the Anadyr, the basin of the Sea of Okhotsk, the Amur basin, the Suifun River and in rivers of Sakhalin, in the Middle Volga including the Kama and Oka basins, the upper and middle Dnieper with its tributaries (Ref. 26334). Found in Sakhalin (Ref. 37812). This has been unintentionally released (with other species) to some areas within the country and invaded other areas where it has locally established self-sustaining populations (Ref. 45022).
