Reported from Los BaƱos, Laguna; San Fabian, Pangasinan; Navotas, Malabon, and Puerto Galera, Mindoro (Ref. 280). Collected from Laguna de Bay in 1984 and considered an excellent food fish. It is frequently hauled with A. manillensis. It has also been reported from Laguna de Bay in a 2005 assessment (Ref. 80824). It was described from a 23.5 cm specimen taken from Paco market, Manila (Ref. 12739). Museum specimens collected from various localities, LRS-84135 (Ref. 13460). Also Ref. 38478.
