Known from the northern half of France (Ref. 40476), including the Mont Saint-Michel Bay (Ref. 38302). Also known from Gironde estuary (Ref. 51442), Garonne basin (Ref. 40476) and Rhône basin (Ref. 40476). Fished especially by children (Ref. 30578). Populations seem to decrease everywhere in France (Ref. 40476). Also Ref. 4645.
