Is not considered as part of the fauna of France; one finds it only in pisciculture, although occasionally, it is reported in the Rhine, the Moselle and the Ill rivers. It is distributed in the North and East of France; recently reported from the Loire basin (Ref. 11941). Also Ref. 30578. Its biotope has to be protected ("arrĂȘtĂ© du 8-12-1988") (Ref. 40476).
