Comments

Occurs in a section 3 km upstream of Lez, a small river in the south of France in the area of Montpellier which is fed by sources of karstic origin. Because of its limited distribution, making C. petiti one of the rarest spcies in France and even in Europe, and the risk of competition with C. gobio, C. petiti is regarded as an endangered species (Ref. 30578). Type locality: sources of river Lez. Also Ref. 55856.
