Ranges from the outer shelf of the eastern Bering Sea and the Aleutian Is. to southeastern Alaska (Ref. 6793), and recently up to Kamchatka and Sakhalin in the Kuril Islands (Ref. 58104). In 1907, this species was reported as quite common all along the coast (Ref. 11366). Commercially taken in the Gulf of Alaska (Ref. 28499). Also Ref. 6876, 6885, 27436.
