Type localities: of Siniperca chui, Szechuan, Chunking (MMNHN 1944); of Siniperca kwangsiensis, Guangxi, Tungkwei, near Shueko-kwan, Lungchow (MMNHN 1240); of Siniperca chieni, northern Guangxi: Lochenhsien: Maoshan, Tunglen-Tsaitung (MMNHN 454); of Siniperca paichuanensis, Pai-Chüan, north-western part of Ho-nan, close by Tai-hang mountains; of Siniperca szechuanensis, Sichuan: Kiating [Loshan]; (ZMFMIB 13916); of Siniperca schezeri kichuani, southern Sichuan: Si-Chong, closed moutain lake at 4900 masl (ZMFMIB 9199) (Ref. 94476). Known from Guangdong Province in Han Jiang drainage and its river mouth and in Bei Jiang drainage (Ref. 33450). A few population is found in Yangtze estuary and Dianshan Lake (Ref. 85820).
