Known from its type locality, Zamboanga; also from Basilan: Lamitan, Burakan, Busay, and Balactasan rivers; Puerto Princesa and Palawan (1909 & 1913); Concepcion, Busuanga (1922). Probably occurs in Tawi-tawi and Balabac (Ref. 2929). Reported from Palawan (Caiholo River, Ulugan Bay; creek near Pancol, Malampaya Sound; Iwahig, Malatgao, and Camino rivers, near Puerto Princesa); Busuanga (Malbato R., Port Unson and Pangauron R., Port Caltom); Isabela River, Basilan; and Zamboanga R., Mindanao (Ref. 280). Five specimens caught by hook & line in 1989 from Manguao stream (Ref. 13489); seven specimens were collected from Manguao Stream using push net, prefer surface and running water habitats (Ref. 50862).
