Belongs to the Oreoglanis delacouri species group which lacks a distinct median notch on the posterior margin of the lower lip. Can be distinguished from other members of the genus by the following combination characters: maxillary barbel with pointed tip, dentary tooth patches separated by approximately one-quarter their width, tip of pectoral fin in contact with pelvic-fin origin, caudal peduncle length 13.0-15.0 % SL, caudal peduncle depth 5.2-6.6 % SL, caudal peduncle depth 2.15-2.86 times in its length, and a lunate caudal fin with upper and lower first principal rays of approximately equal length (Ref. 83406).
Description: Dorsal fin rays i,5,i or i,6; anal fin rays i,4; pectoral fin rays i,18 or i,19; pelvic fin rays i,5. Caudal fin lunate. Paired fins greatly enlarged, forming ovoid adhesive disc with body (Ref. 83406). |
