Diagnosis

Diagnosis: mouth inferior; two pairs of barbels, anterior pair 1.5x eye diameter, posterior pair 1.67-2.0x; lateral line complete; 24-27 scales in lateral line; 12 scales around caudal peduncle; black elongated spot on both sides of caudal peduncle (Ref. 81639).

Description: medium-sized; lips moderately developed, inferior lip lobed; scales radially striated; 3.5-4.5 scales between lateral line and dorsal fin origin; 4.5 scales between lateral line and mid-belly; 2.5-3 scales between lateral line and pelvic fin insertion; D:III,8; A:III,5; dorsal fin with concave border, last simple ray ossified, a little shorter than head (Ref. 81639).

Coloration: ground color olive brown dorsally, yellow ventrally and flanks; series of black spots along lateral line; black band on each side of caudal peduncle; fins white (Ref. 81639).
