Description: Characterized by translucent whitish color except few melanophores under each eye and melanophores at base of each anal fin ray; broadly separated spinous and soft portions of dorsal rays, fully connected by membrane; broader gap between fifth and sixth dorsal spines compared to gap between previous spines; pectoral rays usually branched except outermost rays; pelvic fins separated to base with branched rays; strongly scalloped lower margin of gill cover; depth of body 7.9-9.5 in SL; head length 3.5-3.9 in SL; narrow interorbital space, about half of eye diameter (Ref. 90102).
