(Lanternfishes) > Myctophidae
(Lanternfishes) > Gymnoscopelinae
Etymology: Notoscopelus: Greek, noton = back + Greek, skopelos = a lantern fish (Ref. 45335).
The position of the species as a synonym of Notoscopelus elongatus (Costa, 1844) is apprently a mistake. Fixation of the issue in progress.
