Etymology: Helicolenus: Greek, helike, -es = spiral + Greek, lenos, -ou = cavity (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Dr Juan Lengerich was a marine biologist who was head of the Industrial Section of the Marine Biology station at the University of Chile, and a member of the Chilean Antarctic Mission. He collected the holotype. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
