Etymology: Rhinotocinclus: Greek, 'Pnivqc' (Rhinos) = beak, snout + Greek, 'Otocinclus' = a genus of Hypoptopomatinae; in reference to the conspicuous and elegant snout of most of its species (Ref. 128924).
