Characterized by the following: uniformly gray with chin and throat slightly paler; median fins pale, turning darker about 2 head lengths before the tail end; head and lateral-line pores and anterior nostrils pale; vertebral formula 42/66/206. Measured lengths (cm): head 2.5 cm, trunk 10.7, tail 23.5, dorsal-fin origin 8.3, body depth behind gill openings 0.53, snout 0.45, upper jaw 0.71; interorbital width 0.28 (Ref. 94547).
