Etymology: Pempheris: Greek, pempheris = the name of a fish (Ref. 45335); orbis: Name from Latin for circle or ring, referring tor the most striking color feature of this species in alcohol (and presumably also in life); i.e. the bright copper ring around the pupil of the eye; noun in apposition.
