Dorsal spines (total): 10 - 11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 27-29; Vertebrae: 25. Weakly differentiated teeth on the lower jaw. Usually with X first dorsal fin spines, 27-29 dorsal fin soft rays, usually 17-18 pectoral fin rays, usually 13-14 lower gill rakers, cycloid scales on the anterior half of the body and swim bladder appendages strongly enveloping the bladder.
